The Tuscaloosa Half Marathon is proud to announce that local charities The Kiwanis Club of Greater Tuscaloosa, ReadBAMARead and Arts ‘n Autism received a combined $49,200 as a result of the 2017 race! These three organizations were the recipient of $16,400 each.

As a result of the THM, local children’s organizations have now received a total of $226,200. Books have been bought for school libraries that were destroyed in April 2011 and Rosedale Park was built as a result of The Kiwanis Club of Greater Tuscaloosa.  Additionally, the THM has touched organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Alabama, RISE, Thomas Plott Foundation/Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, SMA and the Literacy Council of West Alabama as a result of the event.

Along with supporting this fantastic community event, your participation will help each of our organizations further their mission. The Kiwanis Club of Greater Tuscaloosa serves the children of the world and will donate a portion of their proceeds to local children charities. ReadBAMARead will continue to help rebuild the school libraries that were destroyed in the tornado, as well as educate the importance of children’s literacy. Arts ‘n Autism provides programs for pre-school aged children to adults with autism in Tuscaloosa and West Alabama.

If crossing the finish line while helping the local community better itself is something that you desire, then registering for the Tuscaloosa Half Marathon is a perfect fit for you!
